This Protein Cranberry Smoothie is made with raw cranberries which are a powerhouse of goodness.
Here in the UK, you will only find fresh cranberries in the shops in November and December. This leaves only a very small window to enjoy these super healthy berries.
Cranberries are rich in antioxidants and can help fight inflammation and bacterial infections (such as urinary tract infections ). They are also a good source of vitamin C, vitamin K and manganese.
Raw cranberries can be quite bitter, so I add some maple syrup to this smoothie to sweeten it. Quite fitting really, as most cranberries sold here come from Canada.
I like a mix of mint, goji berries and coconut as topping but shelled hemp or raw cacao are also delicious.
This recipe makes 2 larges protein smoothies that you can enjoy for breakfast, snack or post workout.
