Who can resist brownies? Certainly not me! Being something of a purist, I have always preferred plain chocolate brownies, maybe with a few nuts. Since receiving a selection box from Bad Brownie that’s all changed. I have discovered a world of exciting gourmet vegan brownies. I am afraid there may be no going back to plain chocolatey brownies for me.
Based in London, Bad Brownie has made its name selling its delicious morsels on market stalls across the capital. Founders Paz and Morag starting baking in a tiny flat in Richmond and appeared in 2015 on Dragon’s Den, where they secured investment from Touker Suleyman. Due to COVID restrictions, the market stalls and the shop in Canary Wharf are currently closed but the good news is that Bad Brownie has an online store and delivers straight to your door.
I received a box of vegan brownies last week that including three flavours: Oreo Cookie Dough, After Eight and Biscoff. Velvety and intense, they proved hard to resist.
Oreo Cookie Dough combines a layer of gooey dark chocolate brownie with crunchy cookie dough and Oreos. After Eight is a dark chocolate brownie with a creamy minty fondant top finished with a chocolate ganache and gold sprinkles. Biscoff is a slightly spiced chocolate brownie with double Biscoff in the form of Biscoff spread and crumbled Biscoff biscuits on top.
Bad Brownie has crafted three additional drool-worthy flavours for their vegan selection: Salted Caramel, Chocolate Orange and Classic Choc Chip. These are available in the larger selection boxes. There is even a gluten-free vegan collection which is just as delicious and indulgent.
Our brownies arrived neatly packed in a fully recyclable cardboard box. We enjoyed them as a mid-afternoon treat with the kids. Rich and intense, every single bite was heavenly. The After Eight bites have a fudgy texture and flavoursome mint notes, while we all enjoyed the decadence of the Biscoff bites and drooled over the crumbly and moreish Oreos. The kids were raving about them for days and we had to be quick to get our share.
If you fancy an indulgent treat for yourself (or someone else), I would recommend you try these vegan brownies. They are seriously good!
Competition time !!
These brownies were a big hit with the whole family. This is why I am so excited that Bad Brownies has kindly offered a box of 12 vegan brownie bites to one lucky reader. The box includes the same three flavours we enjoyed: Oreo Cookie Dough, After Eight and Biscoff. Please note that they are not gluten-free.
