Following its success last year, Pret vegan Christmas Sandwich returns this holiday season. In fact, veggie Christmas Lunch, vegan Very Merry Christmas Lunch along with the Festive Winter Salad are all back due to popular demand.
For every Christmas sandwich and baguette sold, 50p will be donated towards the Pret Foundation Trust (PFT) to continue its work helping to alleviate homelessness. This year, the menu is supported by a campaign that celebrates the PFT’s Rising Stars programme. Set up in 2008, the Rising Stars programme takes on 50 ex-homeless people each year and provides them with a job which includes training in Pret shops, as well as one-to-one counselling, weekly chat groups and creative art sessions.
The new festive menu is available nationwide from November 6th and includes the following meat-free options:
SANDWICHES
Pret’s Veggie Christmas Lunch Sandwich, £3.50 (Donates 50p to the PFT)
Combining roasted butternut squash, peppery rocket and Christmas pesto made with pine nuts, chestnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, parsley and rosemary. Served with a spoonful of yoghurt & mayo dressing and a sprinkling of crispy onions.
Very Merry Christmas Lunch Sandwich, £3.50 (Vegan) (Donates 50p to the PFT)
Grilled carrots, crispy onions and baby spinach with Pret’s festive vegan stuffing and port & orange cranberry sauce. Finished with caramelised pecans for an added Christmas crunch.
BAGUETTES
Brie & Cranberry Baguette, £3.50 (Veggie)
Three slices of delicately flavoured French Brie on Pret’s stone baked baguette. Served with port & orange cranberry sauce, toasted pistachios and a handful of wild rocket.
SALADS
Festive Winter Salad, £4.50 (Veggie)
Pret has combined classic Christmas flavours to create this festive salad. Shredded apple, butternut squash, broccoli and spinach are topped with Wensleydale & cranberry cheese, caramelised pecans and fresh pomegranate seeds.
SWEET TREATS
New! Mince Pie Cookie, £1.45 (Veggie)
A seasonal ginger & orange cookie with a mincemeat middle. Bramley apple is combined with the mincemeat for added texture and flavour. Topped with a dusting of icing sugar.
Christmas Tiffin, £1.60 (Veggie)
An indulgent mix of crunchy gingerbread biscuit and cranberries bound with chocolate and a hint of orange. Layered with white chocolate, dried cranberries and chopped pistachios.
Mince Pie, £1.45 (Veggie)
Handmade in Yorkshire by specialist bakers, Pret’s Mince Pies are made in small batches using a traditional all-butter pastry recipe. Bramley apple is combined with the mincemeat for added texture and flavour. Topped with a Pret star and a dusting of icing sugar.
DRINKS
New! Crème Brûlée Latte, £2.85 (Veggie or can be made Vegan)
HoPret’s classic latte complimented with the flavour of crème brûlée. Finished with a swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of brown sugar. Available with milk, soya or rice-coconut milk alternative – and those who bring in a reusable cup will be able to enjoy 50p off. (Rice-coconut milk is an extra 35p).
