I have always loved to start the day with a glass of fresh juice. Unlike coffee, which gives me a quick buzz, a juice delivers a steady kind of energy that feels both energising and nourishing. Instead of that jittery spike I get from coffee, it fuels my body in a way that feels light yet sustaining.

As the weather gets colder, this is something I crave even more. Packed with vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that help strengthen immunity, it is the perfect way to give my body a healthy boost. Juices are also ideal to replenish, especially after working out.

I have own a couple of juicers over the years, mainly centrifugals. While they have served me fairly well when juicing standard fruits like apples, oranges, and pineapples, I have always found that they tend to struggle with leafy greens (such as kale, spinach or wheatgrass), herbs (like parsley, rosemary, basil, mint etc..), and other fibrous vegetables or roots such as ginger and turmeric. These tougher ingredients pass through a centrifugal juicer with minimal juice extraction which feels very wasteful.

When my most recent centrifugal juicer finally gave out, I decided it was time to explore other options. I was acquainted with slow juicers (also known as masticating juicers) and their reputation for producing higher-quality juice with better nutrient retention.

Admittedly, I was hesitant at first as the price difference between a slow juicer and a standard centrifugal one is significant. So I tiptoed into the world of slow juicing, doing my research, reading reviews, and weighing whether the investment was truly worth it.

As luck would have it, Hurom reached out to invite me to join their affiliate program. I didn’t hesitate, as this was the perfect excuse to finally commit to slow juicing.

Founded in 1974, Hurom is a South Korean company known for its high-quality range of juicers and patented Slow Squeeze Technology™ , which mimics the motion of hand-squeezing juice to minimize oxidation and preserve nutrients. Over the years, Hurom has built a strong reputation for creating durable, health-focused juicers that can handle just about anything, including those problematic leafy greens and fibrous roots, that I love but had been struggling with.

So over the past few weeks, I have put the Hurom Slow Juicer H330P to the test, not only making juices but also juice shots, nut milks and sorbets/ice creams, and I can honestly say that I am officially a convert. Best of all, it is super easy to clean up!

So if you are looking to get into slow juicing or need an upgrade from your old machine, read on to see my full review and make sure to take advantage of the exclusive offer below.

Comparing Slow Juicers vs Centrifugal Juicers

Feature🌀 Slow Juicer (Masticating / Cold Press)⚡ Centrifugal Juicer
Speed❌ Slow✅ Fast
Juice Yield✅ Higher❌ Lower
Pulp Dryness✅ Drier❌ Wetter
Nutrient Retention✅ Better (less heat/oxidation)❌ More nutrient loss
Juice Shelf Life✅ Longer (up to 72 hrs)❌ Shorter
Best For✅ Anything including leafy greens, soft fruits, roots, herbs✅ Hard, water-rich fruits and vegetables
Noise Level✅ Quiet❌ Noisy
Price❌ More expensive✅ More affordable

The Slow Juicing Difference

As previously mentioned, I have mainly used traditional centrifugal juicers over the years, but here is why a slow juicer outperforms them, and why it’s worth paying a little extra.

  • Better Nutrient Retention: Juices from a slow juicer often retain more vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. This is because slow juicers crush and gently squeeze fruits and vegetables minimising heat and oxidation. In contrast, centrifugal juicers spin at very high speeds, generating heat that can destroy delicate enzymes and some nutrients.
  • Less Foam and Better Juice Texture: Slow juicers produce smoother, less frothy juices.
  • Can Handle a Wider Variety of Ingredients: Slow juicers work well with leafy greens, wheatgrass, fibrous roots, and soft fruits alike.
  • Less waste: Slow juicers extract more juice from the same amount of produce, leaving drier pulp.
  • Quieter: Slow juicers operate at low speeds, making them much quieter than the loud, high-speed centrifugal models.
