My new cookbook Less Meat, More Plants has over 100 recipes specifically created to nourish your body, protect the planet, and help you in your plant-based journey.
I have some exciting news. I have written a cookbook!
Less Meat, More Plants is available in the UK from Blackwell’s and Amazon.co.uk and in the US from Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.
I am thrilled to share a sneak preview of the cover (and recipes) with you and to tell you more about it. While I had been wanting to “maybe publish a cookbook one day”, this feels quite surreal and would not have been possible without the help and support of my publisher Victory Belt and my family.

What to expect from Less Meat, More Plants
Less Meat, More Plants has over 100 recipes specifically created to nourish your body, protect the planet, and help you in your plant-based journey.
Plants take centerstage and many of the recipes are vegetarian or vegan. However, to help out those who are just starting out on their meat-free journey and also to reflect the way I cook for my family, I have also developed adaptable recipes that can provide two meat servings and two vegetarian/vegan portions without much extra work. These recipes can accommodate both meat-eaters and non-meat-eaters and if, like me, you need to cater for different diets, they will save you time and money.
Recipes inspired by my life
While working on this book, I aimed to put plants centre stage, from breakfast through to dessert, without ever compromising on taste. I have not only drawn on my Mediterranean and French heritages but also on my travels and years living in both New York and London.
I really wanted this cookbook to reflect my food heritage and spent a fair amount of time talking to my mum and dad about family and the food of my childhood. My mum has encouraged my interest in food from a very young age and I learned a lot from her simply by watching her cook.
During our many conversations, it became obvious that, as much as I had many food memories, there was a lot of family history that I was not aware of. So I am now researching my family tree and have embarked on a fascinating journey currently spanning from France to the US (via Tunisia, Sicily and Germany).
From day one, Graham and the kids have been there every step of the way, helping perfect each recipe by eating their way through many versions of the same dishes and even, for Graham, lending a patient hand through lengthy photoshoots. Needless to say, their support has been invaluable.
What you will find in this cookbook
In Less Meat, More Plants you will find recipes inspired by many different world cuisines such as Spanish-style Sheet Pan Chicken, Mediterranean Orzo Salad, Red Lentil Dahl with Kale Chips, Gnocchi Soup, Tomato and Tapenade Tart, and Teriyaki Tempeh Bowls … to name just a few.
The recipes are organised as follows:
- Breakfasts
- Small Bites
- Hearty Salads and Bowls
- Sandwiches, Wraps & Flatbreads
- Soups
- Less Meat, More Plants Mains
- Meat-Free Mains
- Sweet Treats
- Dressings, Sauces & Other Basics
The Less Meat, More Plants Mains chapter is specifically designed for anyone looking to eat less animal products. In it, I have included recipes which are made with smaller amounts of meat or fish, without compromising on taste (I also give easy plant-swap options should you wish to make them vegetarian or vegan).

Kitchen guides to help you eat more plants and green living tips
Additionally, I have devised kitchen guides to show you not only how to cook with less meat, dairy and eggs but also how to prepare and cook plant-based food such as tofu, jackfruit, pulses, and quinoa.
You will also find some helpful tips on how to shop for local and seasonal food, reduce food waste, and limit your use of plastic.
Wherever you are on your journey, whether you are just starting to cut back on meat and other animal products or you are already on a pescatarian or vegetarian diet and want to eat more plant-based food, this book will be relevant to you. Even if you are already following a vegan diet, I hope you will find some new ideas and inspiration.
A UK / US Edition
Less Meat, More Plants has been published simultaneously in the US and the UK which is really exciting. However, this created the interesting challenge of writing a book suitable for readers on both sides of the pond! As a result, all the recipes include both US Imperial and Metric measurements, which I hope will make it easy for everyone to cook my recipes.
Ordering Less Meat, More Plants
You can order Less Meat, More Plants in the UK from Blackwell’s and Amazon.co.uk and in the US from Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, and these additional retailers.
Adopting a plant-forward flexitarian diet has been a life-changing experience for me and my wish is that this cookbook will inspire many others to do the same.
Much love, as always
