Whipped Feta Cheese Dip: A Creamy Mediterranean Delight

Creamy and tangy, this whipped feta cheese dip is perfect for snacking, dipping, or spreading on sandwiches. I also like to serve it with my air fryer broccoli. You can whip it up in no time, with just a few simple ingredients.

I use a food processor to make this dip. If you do not have one, you can use a blender or, alternatively, mash the feta cheese with a fork and then whisk in the rest of the ingredients until the dip is smooth.

You can make this whipped feta cheese dip ahead of time and keep it refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3-5 days. Once you are ready to use it, give it a good stir to smooth the texture.

Ingredients for this whipped feta cheese dip (and substitutions)

You only need a few ingredients to make this recipe:

  • Feta cheese
  • Greek yoghurt of choice (you can use dairy, non-dairy, full fat, low fat, or fat free. Keep in mind that depending on the type of yoghurt you use, you might need to adjust the amount you use to get your preferred consistency).
  • Garlic clove
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt (this is optional as feta is generally quite salty)

TOPPINGS (optional)

  • Chilli flakes
  • Dill
  • Mint
  • Walnuts

What to serve with this whipped feta cheese dip

This whipped feta cheese dip pairs well with a lot of different food, including:

  • Raw vegetables (carrots, cucumbers, radishes, celery sticks, peppers, etc)
  • Bread & crackers: pita bread, seeded crackers, baguettes, ciabatta, focaccia
  • Grilled vegetables

You also use it as a spread for sandwiches and wraps.

How can you customise it?

You can customise this dish endlessly. Here are some ideas:

  • Herbs: try dill, parsley, oregano, thyme, mint, or basil.
  • Spices: you can swap the chilli flakes for za’atar, Italian seasoning, dukkah, sumac, cumin, or paprika.
  • Toppings: you can also add garnish such as olives, sun-dried tomatoes, chilli-infused oil, harissa, grilled artichokes, grapes, fresh figs, or honey.
  • Nuts: instead of walnuts, try almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts etc …

Storage and make-ahead tips

Storage:

  • This dip can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-5 days.
  • The dip may thicken slightly when chilled. Let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving.
  • Give it a quick stir before serving to ensure a smooth texture.

Make-Ahead Tips:

  • This dip can be made up to 1 day in advance.
  • If making ahead, add any fresh herb garnishes and toppings just before serving.
