9 Eco Easter Eggs

April 11, 2019 · The Flexitarian Leave a Comment

Happy Easter

With Easter just around the corner, I decided to round-up some of my favourite eco Easter eggs.

Many Easter eggs are over-packaged in unnecessary plastic that is near impossible to recycle. After Christmas, this is the time of the year where we go, once again, in packaging and waste overdrive.

Here are my 6 favourite eco Easter eggs suitable for either adults or children. The ethical credentials I have been on the lookout for are: little to no plastic, organic, vegan, no (unsustainable) palm oil as well as fair trade accreditation.

Montezuma's Eco Eggs

Montezuma’s Eco Eggs are wrapped in an innovative eco-friendly packaging made of just two parts: a sturdy biodegradable paper outer shell/sleeve and a foil wrapping.

Made from 150g of quality organic goodness. Children will enjoy the crunchy organic milk chocolate egg with butterscotch as well as the creamy organic white chocolate egg with raspberry. Vegans and dark chocolate lovers will relish the truly delicious vegan organic dark chocolate eggs with cocoa nibs.

Price: £8.99

Get It From: Montezumas

Like No Udder Button Egg

Smooth and creamy, Like No Udder Button Egg is made from organic milk chocolate alternative without the dairy. Ideal for vegans or anyone intolerant to lactose. This vegan Easter egg comes with organic chocolate buttons (wrapped in a small plastic bag). The chocolate is a bit darker than conventional milk chocolate and boosts lots of Montezuma’s character.

Price: £9.99

Divine Luxury Egg

Fair trade certified with no palm oil or plastic packaging, this milk chocolate Easter egg comes with a thick smooth chocolate shell. A generous handful of praline mini eggs hides at the bottom of the box, ready to be shared if you want to. The kids’ favourite.

Price: £10.00

Get It From: Ocado

Divine Vegan Easter Egg

Fair trade certified with no palm oil or plastic packaging, this is my favourite dark chocolate Easter egg. Deliciously smooth vegan chocolate with a cluster of crunchy hazelnuts. Scrumptious!

Price: £5.25

Get It From: Divine

Plamil's Easter Eggs

Plamil’s Easter Eggs are organic, vegan and fair trade. Their packaging is fully recyclable. Available in dark, white and milk chocolate they come with a sharing bag of eggs (dark or milk) or a bunny bar (white).

Price: from £8.97

Get It From: Amazon

Booja Booja Easter Eggs

These moreish champagne truffles are a true grown-up indulgence. Booja Booja’s truffles are organic, vegan, dairy and gluten free. Beautifully packaged in a hand-made gift Easter egg created from paper maché to keep and re-use.

Price: from £39.24
