Choosing a new kitchen appliance is always difficult. Let’s face it there is a lot of choices out there and it is often hard to decide. I tend to make my decisions based on features, practicality, price and aesthetics. A couple of years ago, our apple tree treated us to such an exceptional crop, I bought a Magimix Le Duo Juicer to ensure we made the most of it. It has served me well ever since; it is easier to clean than my previous juicer, yet could do with more sturdiness as it moves around when operating.
When Steamer Trading contacted me to try out the L’Equip 215 XL Juicer, I was keen to compare them both.
We drink a fair amount of juices and I found that it was much cheaper to make them at home than buying them from the shops.
If you are looking to get the most health benefits from juices, then it is also best to make them yourself. Store-bought juices are sometimes pasteurised to increase shelf-life which is detrimental to the nutrients present in fresh fruits and vegetables. You know yourself that not two oranges taste the same and often manufacturers add sugar to balance the taste of their juices.
As soon as I unpacked my L’Equip 215 XL Juicer, I was pleased to see that the pulp collector was completely independent and easily removable. From time to time, I make 1 to 2 litres of juice ahead to keep in the fridge. This creates quite a lot of pulp and as a result I need to completely dismantle my Magimix to discard it. That is not practical at all and can get quite messy.
I was also happy to see that the juice bowl is made of high-quality stainless steel as plastic stains over time, especially with dark coloured fruits and vegetables.
I received a black and stainless steel L’Equip 215 XL Juicer which can easily suit different kitchen styles.
I put L’Equip 215 XL Juicer to the test by giving it some tough and leafy vegetables to get through, such as cabbage, spinach, broccoli, beetroot and carrot, as well as ginger. Its powerful 600W motor got the job done in no time. The extra large feeding tube is great to put larger chunks in. The L’Equip 215 XL Juicer extracted a lot of juice leaving the pulp virtually dry.
Two side clamps hold the juicer together. They can be clipped and unclipped without any struggle.
With my current juicer, I find it difficult to collect the juice as the spout is quite low. Also it gets a bit unsturdy when you switch it on, so I have to hold it in place while feeding the fruit or vegetables. It can be a bit of a battle. L’Equip 215 XL Juicer is much sturdier when you switch it on. Also, the spout is higher up, so you can fit a tall receptacle under it to collect the juice. Much better really.
Obviously, for busy family households, the question on everyone’s lips is “how easy is it to clean?” The L’Equip 215 XL Juicer is very easy to dismantle and washes in a flash. All parts are dishwasher safe. You can even place a paper bag in the pulp collector to recycle the waste straightaway.
Operating the L’Equip 215 XL is straightforward. The manual is easy to follow and there are also 16 different juice combinations to try with it.

This sounds like a great juicer. Recently I bought the one from Aldi (actually my other half bought it for me!) and it also has a separate pulp collector, didn’t realise not all juicers have a separate one. However, the Aldi’s juicer is all plastic so I do have to make sure I wash it straight away after use otherwise, like you say, the plastic can get stained. Is this a slow juicer?

Thanks for your comment Petra. The separate pulp collector is really a plus. No it is not a slow juicer.
