6 Best Ways to Use Panasonic MX-ZX1800 Blender

As part of my #ExperienceFresh collaboration with Panasonic, I was delighted to receive their latest blender to review, the Panasonic MX-ZX1800 Blender. Since I started The Flexitarian blog, I have been making most of our food from scratch and blending has  become second nature.

When the kids were young, I used a small blender to purée their food, starting from simple fruit and vegetable blends to liquidising our own meals for them to eat. Nowadays, I use our blender almost every day to make breakfast smoothies, snacks and soups. Blending for four, I had to upgrade to a blender with a capacity and power.

Matching the Panasonic MK-F800 Food Processor, with a smart black & silver design, the MX-ZX1800 Blender is very easily suited to different kitchen styles.

This is a high speed blender that will crush, liquidise and grind the toughest ingredients. Here are some of the specifications:

  • 1,200W and 19,000 rpm motor
  • 6 pre-programmed settings (taking the guessing out of which speed or functions to use)
  • 10 speed control manual knob to adjust speed as needed
  • 1.8 litre jug
  • heat function to heat soups to 60-90°C
  • dimensions 22.8 x 22 x 44.7cm
  • weight 6.1kg
  • noise 9.1 dB

In addition to its high performance, the MX-ZX1800 Blender comes with a dual tier, six point stainless steel blade system.

Three upper blades use straight, sharp edges for rough cutting of ice, fruits and vegetables alongside three lower blades with jagged edges for fine chopping and cutting.

The powerful motor and the elaborate blade are ideal to extract nutrients and goodness from the toughest ingredients, while making your preparations ultra smooth. The Panasonic MX-ZX1800 Blender enables you to use fruits and vegetables with skin on as well as nuts and seeds, so you can fully reap the nutritional benefits. Power is also key when you want to make super-smooth soups.

Panasonic MX-ZX1800 Blender Ice Jacket

The Panasonic MX-ZX1800 Blender comes with a very handy ice jacket to keep smoothies, cocktails and other frozen desserts ice cold. Keep the ice jacket in the freezer ready to be snugly fitted around the blender jug when you need it.

Those of you who use blenders regularly will know that from time to time pieces of ingredients can get inconveniently stuck. This Panasonic MX-ZX1800 Blender come with a very practical tamper which help jiggle those stubborn bits around. Very handy, especially for thicker mixtures or hard leafy greens.

Using an appliance regularly, means that you will also need to clean it regularly. I had to fight with my previous blender. It was impossible to get clean, simply because you could not dismantle the bottom part. In contrast, Panasonic has designed the MX-ZX1800 Blender with a jug base holder which simplifies the cleaning process by enabling you to remove the blade with a single twist. So simple!

The Panasonic MX-ZX1800 Blender has certainly been designed with versatility in mind so that you can get creative about using the best seasonal fresh ingredients. Beyond smoothies, this is an appliance that comes very handy for everyday use.

Here are some recipe ideas you can easily create:

  1. Juices & Smoothies
  2. Purees – mash potatoes, dips, spreads, baby food, pesto, blender cake dough, tomato sauces, nut & dry fruits snack bars
  3. Nut & Seed Butters
  4. Soups – make soups, bisques and gazpachos silky smooth with the powerful motor. Heats up to 60-90°C when running for 8 mins. This setting is also great for crepe batter, custard or even hollandaise sauce.
  5. Chop, Crush & Grind – nuts, parmesan cheese, ice, nut milks, nut and grain flours
  6. Frozen Dishes & Drinks – cocktails, frozen yoghurt, milk shakes, slushies, ice creams, ice lollies

While I was trying out the Panasonic MX-ZX1800 Blender, I created this quick and easy recipe for Orange & Mango Blender Pancakes With Toasted Pecans, below. I first blended the fruits to a silky smooth coulis, then using the same “dirty” jug (and saving on the dishwashing) I blended the rest of the ingredients to a lump-free batter. Simple, easy and delicious!

Can you do a post on nut butter using this blender? Would love to see the result i.e. how smooth it can get. Thanks.
