“It’s a Vegan Ting” – London Waterloo’s First 100% Vegan Market

London based events company BLAX-UK has teamed up with ethical lifestyle magazine Bright Zine to host “It’s a Vegan Ting” London Waterloo’s first 100% vegan market taking place on Sunday the 3rd of June at the new Shout About London venue, 26 Leake Street, an amazing new venue located in the infamous Leake Street “Banksy” tunnel that has previously played host to big names such as Drake, Diplo, Fendi and Adidas.

The event includes over 40 stalls serving up some of the best vegan treats London has to offer as well as a host of amazing DJ’s selecting the perfect musical backdrop to suit this brand new vibrant Sunday atmosphere.

All ticket profits will be going to F.R.I.E.N.D animal sanctuary.

Advanced tickets are £5 plus booking fee, tickets on the door will be £7.

Bursting with flavours this Garlic & Tomato Pasta makes a delicious and easy summer dish that is perfect for this hot weather. You can serve it slightly warm or at room temperature. It is also scrumptious the next day as a cold leftover.

This is an old family recipe that back home we call Pâtes à l’ail. Growing up, my Sicilian great-aunt (yes I am a 1/4 Italian in case you did not know 😉) would make it for us in the summer when tomatoes are at their best. 

Like any recipe that has been passed down through generations, creating a written version of it, involved quite a few phone calls between my mum and one of our cousins. Everyone in the family makes this Garlic & Tomato Pasta from memory, adding their own twist and using approximate quantities of ingredients. My version is even more different as I have added cannellini beans for protein.
