Another Delicious Bite Of The Goodlife

 Goodlife's vegetarian ready meals

Back in February, I had the chance to try some of Goodlife’s vegetarian ready meals and I absolutely loved them. Based in Warrington, Cheshire, Goodlife has been striving for the past 25 years to source its vegetables from the UK’s best farmers. It currently offers a range of 12 vegetarian meals (with no artificial additives or preservatives); perfect for busy individuals and families looking for healthy convenience food.

Goodlife

I was delighted when I received Goodlife’s latest meals: a 3 Bean Chilli with Cauliflower Rice and a Vegetable Masala also with Cauliflower Rice. Both meals are high in protein and provide 3 of your 5 a day. Cooked from frozen, they are presented in a tray with two compartments to keep the main dish and cauliflower separated. They can be ready as quickly as 8 mins with a microwave or 18 mins in an conventional oven.

A busy day gardening that had left us ravenous became the perfect excuse to try out both dishes.

3 Bean Chilli with Cauliflower Rice
Goodlife 3 Bean Chilli with Cauliflower Rice

The 3 Bean Chilli contains 15g of plant based protein and is low in fat, sugar and salt. A delicious vegan and gluten free option containing 3 of your 5-a-day, it includes a mix of red and white kidney beans, pinto beans and sweetcorn in a spicy tomato chilli sauce.

While I generally add more beans to my chilli recipe, this was really tasty and hearty. The cauliflower cooked perfectly and was a welcome change from rice. The sauce was rich and thick, while the chipotle chilli provided the right amount of heat. Rating:★★★★✰ (only 4 stars as I prefer more beans!)

Goodlife Vegetable Masala with Cauliflower Rice

The vegetarian Vegetable Masala with Cauliflower Rice is also a gluten free meal that provides 3 of your 5-a-day. It contains 11.6g or protein, is low in saturated fat, sugar and salt.  I really enjoyed this dish. Sweet potato and red peppers are served in a fragrant silky coconut and tomato sauce.

This dish was delish! I absolutely loved it. The cauliflower rice was a light accompaniment that worked perfectly with the rich sauce. I thought the peppers would be too mushy but they came out perfectly cooked. Rating:★★★★★

Goodlife’s Vegetable Masala and 3 Bean Chilli can be found in the frozen section at Morrisons at only £2.00. Bursting with flavours, they are packed with proteins and make a healthy vegetarian or vegan meal options whenever you are in a rush.  Portions are very generous and will leave you full and satisfied.
