My Zero Waste Kitchen: Review + Giveaway

My Zero Waste Kitchen

Most of us hate wasting money, yet one room in particular is responsible for a lot of waste: the kitchen. Did you know that, according to Love Food Hate Waste, most family households in the UK could save up to £60 a month just by saving food? That’s around £700 a year!

In her latest book, My Zero Waste Kitchen, Kate Turner takes a pragmatic and fun approach to reducing food waste. She offers simple advice and easy solutions to make every kitchen more sustainable. This is a bright and engaging book which I find really useful. From storing tips to extend the life of food products, to planning meals and even composting, Kate highlights so many ways we all can do more with less.

There is advice on how to make the most of everyday food such as rice, eggs (a personal battle of mine) or fruit and vegetable peel and scraps. My Zero Waste Kitchen will teach you how to regrow lettuce by planting the root base or how to make the best of leftover vegetable stalks and tops. There is even a handy freezer guide for all the things you didn’t know you could freeze.

The book also includes 10 easy recipes with instructions on how to adapt them to meet a zero-waste target. I was really impressed by the cake recipe that can be modified to use banana peels and pineapple cores.

My Zero Waste Kitchen is filled with many clever tips that will help you save money. It’s a really practical book that is perfect for anyone striving to have a more sustainable lifestyle. You can buy it from Amazon by clicking  on the image below.
