The Flexitarian » Competition » GIVEAWAY – Amy’s Kitchen Goodie Bag Worth £50

GIVEAWAY – Amy’s Kitchen Goodie Bag Worth £50

Amys Kitchen

I was thrilled to receive a selection of Amy’s Kitchen frozen meals to try. My box included Rice Macaroni & Cheese, Chinese Noodles & Veggies, Veggie Burger, Broccoli & Cheddar Bake, Red Curry, Burrito and Vegetable Lasagna.

While I am still working my way through the meals I received, here is what I can report so far. The Chinese Noodles were absolutely delicious and tasty. Gluten and dairy-free, this dish is oozing with a delicious dairy-free sauce with added cashew butter and blends together tofu, rice noodles and vegetables. The Rice Macaroni & Cheese was also a hit. Very creamy, it is again gluten and dairy free using rice pasta and “Daiya Cheeze”. The Vegetable Lasagna was packed with veggies and flavours. Unfortunately, the vegetarian burger was a bit of a miss. But then again, I am yet to find one that I find satisfying. Overall, Amy’s Kitchen food is very good and I am looking forward to my next meal.

Amy’s Kitchen was set up in 1988 by Andy and Rachel Berliner who named the company after their daughter. Based in California, the family business is dedicated to create great tasting vegetarian food with all the care and attention that goes into a home-cooked meal. From One Frozen Pot Pie, Amy’s Kitchen is a great success story, now selling over 250 products.

Amy's Kitchen

I was amazed to learn that every year, Amy’s Kitchen uses 32 million pounds of organic tomatoes and nearly 14 million pounds of organic onions — the company’s two biggest crops. “We often buy a farm’s entire crop, and we can help grow the farm’s business as we grow Amy’s,” says Andy. Today, Amy’s Kitchen works with more than 60 farms in the vicinity of its US production facilities, which helps empower organic farmers and supports the non-GMO movement.

Every product in the Amy’s Kitchen range is vegetarian and many are also gluten‐free, dairy‐free, vegan or low-fat without compromising on quality or taste. No meat, fish, poultry or eggs are ever used in any product. Cheeses are made with pasteurised milk and do not contain animal enzymes or rennet.

All Amy’s Kitchen products are Vegetarian Society approved and all products in their gluten-free range hold the Coeliac UK Crossed Grain Symbol License.

There is over 40 delicious and convenient homemade meals available in the UK and stocked by all of the UK’s supermarkets, including Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, Co-op, Ocado as well as  health food shops.

This National Vegetarian Week, we have teamed up with Amy’s Kitchen and have this fabulous goodie bag below worth £50 to giveaway to one lucky reader!

  49. PAUL JENKINS says

The Asparagus and goats cheese pizza sounds nice. I use to suffer badly from eczema as a kid and had no choice but to resort to goats milk as cow milk inflamed the rash further. Some people thought I’d either fallen over or been in a fight but it was a condition affecting the skin making it covered in rash, red and dry and just irratating. You could n’t itch as it would worsen and could bleed. I took E45 cream and creams advised by my Doctor and only drank goats milk.

    Thank you in reading

    Paul

Leek & Spinach Crustless Quiche is a winner – can adapt so easily to what you have in the fridge. I made this again for a picnic over the bank holiday, but this time swapped creme fraiche for cottage cheese (best before was drawing close), threw in some pine nuts, and popped the mixture into the oven in muffin tins to give 12 individual portions. All were devoured 🙂
