Forget storebought, plastic-packaged smoothies with this super tasty banana & kiwi smoothie. Quick and easy to make, you can drink it straight away or pour in a reusable bottle to enjoy on the go.
Great for kids and adults alike, it is ideal for breakfast, as a mid-afternoon / mid-morning snack or as a post-workout rehydrating energy boost.
Packed with seasonal fruits and some vegs (a handful of spinach leaves), it is naturally sweetened with fruit and dates. I added some shelled hemp for extra goodness. You can substitute the shelled hemp with chia seeds or flax seeds if you prefer.
This banana & kiwi smoothie has a smooth & silky texture, but you can also add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency. It will keep refrigerated in an airtight bottle for a day or two.
Smoothies are so quick and easy to make, there are no real reasons why you should buy expensive branded ones in the shops. You only need a blender, some liquid, your favourite fruits and vegetables plus optional add-ons. They are ideal to use produce that are past their best or out of season frozen fruits.

Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 2 kiwis
- 1 orange
- 1 small handful of spinach
- 3 dates (or maple syrup or honey to taste)
- 2 Tbsp of shelled hemp
- 250 ml water
- handful of ice cubes.
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients in a blender and whizz until smooth. Add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency.
