Indulgent & Nutritious Chocolate Overnight Oats
If you love the idea of waking up to a rich, chocolatey breakfast that’s both indulgent and nutritious, these chocolate overnight oats are for you. They are creamy, satisfying, and packed with goodness, perfect for busy mornings when you need something quick yet wholesome.
Simply mix the ingredients together the night before, and the next day, you will have a delicious, ready-to-eat meal waiting in the fridge. If you’re heading out, just pop a portion into a travel container and enjoy it on the go.
I’m a huge fan of overnight oats because they’re so easy to customise with different fruits and toppings. In this recipe, I have added chia seeds and fresh fruits for extra fibre, cocoa powder for that deep chocolate flavour, and almond butter for a boost of healthy fats and protein. The combination makes for a balanced breakfast that keeps you feeling full and energised for hours. It is a hit with both kids and adults. I also love adding a hint of cardamom for a warm, slightly spiced flavour, but if that’s not your thing, cinnamon works just as well.
The best part? Minimal effort is required. Just prepare a batch the night before, and all that’s left to do in the morning is add your favourite toppings. I like pear, raspberries, almond butter, and some grated dark chocolate.
This recipe serves two, and any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
TOP TIP: to give these chocolate overnight oats a chunkier and heartier texture, make sure to use jumbo oats instead of instant oats which can become too soft or mushy.
