Tofu Recipes

Whether you're vegan or vegetarian or just looking for a delicious and healthy meal, tofu is an incredibly versatile ingredient to cook with. From dishes like Asian-style stir-fries to comforting tacos, there's a delicious tofu recipe for everyone! If you're looking for vegetarian and vegan recipes, then tofu should definitely be on the menu.

What is Tofu?

Tofu is made from soybean and comes in a variety of textures and flavours, from silky to firm to extra firm. While tofu may look plain, tofu dishes can really come alive with the right ingredients and cooking methods. So don't be afraid to experiment! With a little bit of creativity, you can create delicious and healthy tofu dishes that will have everyone at the table raving! Cooking with tofu has been a staple of Chinese cuisine for over two millennia. This vegan-friendly food is incredibly nutritious and offers many delicious possibilities in the kitchen! Tofu is rich in protein and calcium, low in fat and sodium, plus it's an excellent source of iron. With its neutral taste, it can be easily marinated and seasoned to complement any dish. Furthermore, tofu makes an excellent dairy substitute for recipes that call for cream, eggs or cheese.

How To Cook Tofu

Tofu is a popular and versatile ingredient that can be used in all sorts of recipes. Press It First!

Except you are making a silken tofu recipe, the best way to prepare tofu is by pressing it first. My first tofu pressing experience involved a plate, a chopping board and a kettle filled with water. A precarious game of Jenga which of course ended up in disaster when it all came crashing down. If you cook tofu often, a press could prove an invaluable kitchen essential.
